Creamy potato soup with bacon - a detailed recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes (875 g), peeled and cut into large cubes
  • 1/2 tbsp. grated cheese such as Gouda Monterey Jack, Cheddar or Russian
  • 250 ml of milk
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 strips of bacon, fried and cut into any shape
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • In a saucepan, cover the potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Add the bacon and onions, reduce the heat, and simmer for about 20 minutes, until the potatoes are tender. Once the potatoes are cooked, mash half of the mixture to thicken the soup.
  • Step 2
  • Reduce heat, add milk and cheese, and stir until the cheese melts. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Ladle the soup into deep bowls and serve.
