These buns are so sweet and moist thanks to an unexpected ingredient: orange confit in the filling! The glaze is also made with orange zest and freshly squeezed juice, so if you love the combination of sweetness and citrus, you're sure to love these.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Dough:
In a large saucepan, heat the milk, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar over low heat. The liquid should be lukewarm (about 50°C). Add the yeast and 4 cups of flour and stir. Cover and let rise for at least an hour. Add the remaining 0.5 cups of flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. - Orange filling:
Roll the dough into a long rectangle, approximately 75 x 25 cm. It should be as thin as possible to allow for more filling. Brush the entire surface of the dough with melted butter. - Spread the orange confit as evenly as possible over the buttered dough. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Finish with a light sprinkle of salt.
- Roll the dough toward you. Pinch the seam to seal. Then cut the roll into 1cm-wide slices. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet and let them rise for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 190°C. Bake the buns for 15–17 minutes.
- While the buns are baking, prepare the orange glaze.:
Combine the orange zest and juice in a bowl. Add the powdered sugar and salt. Add a splash of milk and a little melted butter. Stir until the glaze is smooth. Now your kitchen will be filled with the aroma of oranges! - Remove the buns from the oven and immediately drizzle with the glaze. The warm buns will soak up the delicious glaze and turn out absolutely wonderful! Serve warm.
