The citrus notes that give Bobby Flay's sangria its distinctive freshness are enhanced by the red wine when heated. Alcohol is added, transforming the drink from a simple thirst-quencher into an expensive brandy cocktail.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 bottle of red table wine
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a medium saucepan, combine red wine, orange juice, brandy, and sugar and heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves.

    Add orange and lemon slices to the sangria and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve hot in heat-resistant mugs.
