Green Fairy - Czech serving method - detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 30 ml of absinthe
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 90 ml of chilled water
  • Special equipment: absinthe spoon and lighter

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Pour the absinthe into a rock glass. Quickly soak the sugar cube in the absinthe; just drop it into the bottom. Then remove the sugar cube.
  2. Place an absinthe spoon on the rim of a glass and place a soaked sugar cube on top of the spoon. Light the sugar cube on fire and let it caramelize for 10-20 seconds.

    Slowly pour water over the sugar cube, allowing the sugar to dissolve in the glass. Stir with an absinthe spoon. Serve the Green Fairy without ice.
