Barbecue sauce with cola - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, plus a large pinch for the garlic
  • 3 tbsp. cola
  • 1.5 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 heaping tbsp chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper, plus more to taste
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce, plus more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1.5 tbsp lime juice

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Crush the garlic cloves, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and mash the mixture with the flat side of a knife into a paste.

    In a small saucepan, combine garlic paste, 1/4 teaspoon salt, cola, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce, and allspice. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until thickened, about 45 minutes.
  2. Let cool slightly, toss with lime juice and season with black pepper and hot sauce to taste.
    Exit: 2 tbsp.
