If you have a bar of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and nuts, you can combine them to make mounds—little chocolate mounds loosely filled with filling. To do this, stir dried cherries and crushed almonds into melted chocolate in a double boiler, arrange the mounds on a baking sheet, and let them set. Tart cherries pair beautifully with sweet chocolate and crunchy nuts.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 cup coarsely chopped toasted almonds
  • 0.5 cup dried cherries, coarsely chopped
  • 170 g dark chocolate, finely chopped

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
  2. Melt half the chocolate in a double boiler over simmering water over low heat, stirring frequently. Make sure the water doesn't touch the top bowl. Remove the boiler from the heat and stir in the remaining chocolate. Remove the top bowl of chocolate, gently wipe it clean, and set aside for a moment. Replace the simmering water in the bottom pan with warm tap water. Place the bowl of melted chocolate over the warm water. This will help maintain the chocolate's temperature while you prepare the candies.

  3. In a medium bowl, combine the almonds and cherries. Stir the fruit and nut mixture into the chocolate. Drop 1 tablespoon of the chocolate mixture into mounds on a baking sheet, spacing them about 2.5 cm apart. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. Store and serve at room temperature.
