This quick and delicious bread is baked without yeast, yet rises beautifully with baking powder and baking soda, giving it a stunning texture and flavor. The beer mixed into the dough adds a rich flavor, while smoked cheese, a touch of cayenne pepper, and thyme leaves add a delicious piquancy and aroma. Ingredients for the recipe:
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil + extra to grease the pan
- 3.5 cups flour + extra for dusting the pan
- 2 tablespoons ground mustard seeds
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of cayenne pepper
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 0.33 l of light beer
- 1 tbsp. grated smoked gouda
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme leaves

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease and flour a bread pan.
