Quick Taco Salad

This hearty Tex-Mex salad combines all the ingredients of a traditional taco. Seared ground beef is tossed with tomato, lettuce shreds, onions, and cheese cubes in a vinaigrette. For crunch and flavor, add crushed taco-flavored chips. Serve with salsa and tortilla chips on top. A great appetizer when you don't have time to assemble traditional tacos.


Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 220 g sharp cheddar, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 head of iceberg lettuce, washed, dried and shredded
  • 450 g lean ground beef, fried and crumbled
  • 1 tbsp. smoky-flavored salad dressing
  • 1 bag (200g) taco-flavored chips, crushed
  • 1 cup salsa
  • Tortilla chips, for serving
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Combine tomatoes, cheese, onion, lettuce, and ground beef in a large bowl. Add the salad dressing and toss well. Just before serving, stir in the taco-flavored chips, mixing them in with the other ingredients. Spoon one serving onto each. salsaServe with tortilla chips.
