This taco seasoning is made with basic pantry ingredients and mixes up in minutes, so there's no need to make it in advance. No more searching for ready-made taco seasoning at the grocery store! Below is also a basic taco sauce recipe that you can customize with other ingredients to suit your tastes.


Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1.5 tsp ground cumin
  • 1.5 tsp cornstarch
  • 1.5 tsp coarse salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

    Step 1
  • In a small bowl, combine chili powder, cumin, cornstarch, salt and black pepper.
  • Step 2
  • Meat sauce:

    Brown 1 pound of ground beef in a skillet. Add taco seasoning and 2/3 cup water, bring to a boil, and simmer, stirring, until the meat sauce thickens, about 4 minutes. Use as a filling for tortillas or dip corn chips in the meat sauce.
