Watermelon isn't as simple as it might seem. It can be used to make a variety of drinks and snacks, and even a snack called jerky. While jerky is traditionally a dried chunk of meat, dried watermelon also takes on a similar texture and appearance. Both kids and adults will love these bites. To make jerky, thinly slice seedless watermelon and bake it in the oven at low temperatures for several hours. You can sprinkle the finished watermelon jerky with your favorite spices if desired.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Slice a small seedless watermelon into 0.5 cm thick slices; trim off the rind. Cut the slices into 2.5 x 7 cm rectangles. Arrange them on 2 wire racks set on baking sheets.
- Bake in the oven at 120°C (250°F) until the watermelon is almost completely dry, but not browned, 3 hours. Then reduce the oven temperature to 95°C (205°F) and continue drying, rotating the baking sheets and turning the pieces every 2 hours, until the watermelon is thin, another 3-4 hours.
