Mexican tostadas differ from tacos in that they are served on crispy corn tortillas. The filling is also primarily meat and vegetables. For the filling, prepare ground beef sautéed with roasted tomatoes and chili peppers, sprinkled with chili powder, and serve on crispy tortillas with a mango, onion, and cilantro salsa seasoned with lime juice. Its fruity, sweet-tart flavor perfectly complements the spicy beef. Serve each serving with fresh shredded lettuce and sour cream. You can also arrange taco bar and arrange all the ingredients in different containers: guests can assemble their own tostadas to taste.

Ingredients for the recipe:

- 1 mango, diced
- Half a small red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, plus extra for serving
- Juice of 1 lime + wedges for serving
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 can (425 g) canned chopped roasted tomatoes with chili peppers
- 0.5 - 1 tsp ancho chili powder + extra for sprinkling
- 8 corn tostadas
- Shredded iceberg lettuce, for serving
- 2/3 cup sour cream

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- In a medium bowl, combine mango, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, 1/4 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of black pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, about 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, chili powder, and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Continue cooking until the beef is cooked through and the sauce has reduced slightly, about 2 minutes.
- Divide the fried ground beef among the tostadas; top with lettuce leaves, mango salsa, sour cream, and cilantro. Sprinkle with chili powder, if desired. Serve with lime wedges.
