Surprise your loved ones with this simple yet unique Mexican-inspired dinner. Tostadas (crispy corn tortillas) are served with a turkey topping in tomato sauce, refreshing coleslaw, and fresh tomatoes. If you can't find tostadas in stores, look for smaller tortillas and deep-fry them for a crispy finish.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 package (approximately 450 g) of ground turkey breast, 1% fat
  • 1 can (220 g) of tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 8 tostadas, 12 cm in diameter.
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
  • 1 teaspoon peanut or olive oil
  • 2 tbsp coarsely chopped cilantro
  • 4 plum tomatoes (about 1 cup), diced

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C.
  2. In a medium skillet, combine ground turkey, tomato sauce, and ground chili pepper. Cook over medium heat, breaking up the ground turkey with a spoon, for about 5-7 minutes, or until the turkey registers 165°F (74°C) on a meat thermometer, or until the turkey is cooked through.

  3. Meanwhile, bake the tostadas in the oven until crisp, about 6 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, toss the cabbage with lime juice, oil, and cilantro. Spoon some of the meat mixture onto each tostada. Top with coleslaw and garnish with chopped tomatoes.
