This salad is made with a generous amount of sliced cucumbers, red onion, and bell pepper. The vegetables are tossed in a marinade of vinegar, sugar, vegetable oil, and spicy celery seeds, and served very chilled. Stored in this dressing, it can be refrigerated for several days, and its flavor will become more tart and rich over time. It's not only a wonderful side dish for meat dishes and a refreshing appetizer, but also an excellent ingredient in hearty sandwiches and burgers.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:
- 5 small cucumbers, sliced into rounds (5 cups)
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1.5 cups of sugar
- 1 teaspoon celery seeds
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 medium sweet onion, thinly sliced
- 1 large red or yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- In a medium saucepan, bring the vinegar, sugar, celery seed, vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon salt to a boil over high heat, then remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool for 20 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers, onions, and bell peppers with the marinade and refrigerate overnight. Serve the salad cold.Note
Before slicing cucumbers, prick the skin with a fork, but don't peel them. If possible, try Kirby or Iranian cucumbers. They're smaller than regular cucumbers and very crisp and delicious. Perfect for salads!
