Decorate your holiday party with a unique layered alcoholic jelly in Christmas colors. The main alcoholic ingredient is white rum, but you can use any other colorless spirit, such as tequila or vodka. Serve the jelly in shot glasses. The bottom green layer is lime rum jelly, the top red layer is strawberry rum jelly, and topped with a white star of whipped cream (piped with a piping bag fitted with a star tip). These shots will lift the spirits just by looking at them. A fun party is guaranteed!

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Lime layer:

In a small saucepan (or a microwave-safe bowl), heat 1.5 cups of water until just barely simmering. Pour the lime jelly mixture into a medium bowl and cover with hot water. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Add the rum and stir.
  2. Pour into a large liquid measuring cup. Divide evenly into 34 30ml plastic shot glasses. Refrigerate until the jelly sets, about 45 minutes.

  3. Strawberry layer:

In a small saucepan (or a microwave-safe bowl), heat 1.5 cups of water until just barely simmering. Pour the strawberry jelly mixture into a medium bowl and cover with hot water. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Add the rum and stir.
  4. Pour into a large liquid measuring cup. Carefully pour this mixture over the frozen lime layer in the shot glasses, then return the glasses to the refrigerator until the jelly is completely set, about 2 hours.
  5. Topping:

Meanwhile, beat the cream in a large bowl with a mixer on medium speed until stiff peaks form. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  6. Pipe or spoon whipped cream onto each shot, then lightly sprinkle with sprinkles. Serve chilled.
