Alcoholic jelly shots are very popular in America, but they're not as common here. You can always use this jelly margarita recipe if you're looking for something interesting and unusual for a holiday or get-together with friends.


Ingredients:

  • 90 g of lime- or lemon-flavored gelatin
  • 0.5 cups of Cointreau orange liqueur
  • 0.5 cups of tequila
  • 15 limes
  • Special equipment: tin muffin tin
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the gelatin and stir until dissolved. Pour into a liquid measuring cup and add the orange liqueur and tequila.
  • Step 2
  • Meanwhile, cut the limes in half lengthwise and scoop out the pulp from both halves. Place each half in a muffin tin and pour the gelatin mixture into each half. Refrigerate the tins until the mixture sets.
  • Step 3
  • Before using gelatin shots, cut each half into 2 pieces and sprinkle with salt.
