Cucumber raita is an Indian side dish made with fresh cucumbers, herbs, and natural yogurt, perfect for any Indian meal. Raita is quick and easy to make, but let it sit in the refrigerator before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled.

1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.

1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 cups plain yogurt (any fat content)
  • 2 tbsp. grated cucumber (unpeeled)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 sprigs of fresh mint, leaves only, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 2 tablespoons golden raisins
