Tahini sesame paste elevates our favorite healthy convenience food—canned tuna—in this light salad. For a more elegant and unique presentation, layer it over large tomato slices.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 0.5 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 small clove of garlic
  • 1 can (140 g) tuna
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley + extra for serving
  • 1 large tomato, sliced ​​into crosswise circles
  • Toasted sesame seeds for sprinkling

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a blender or food processor, combine tahini, lemon juice, cumin, garlic, and 1/4 cup water; process until smooth.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and add the tuna and parsley, season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Place a tomato slice on a plate, top with some lettuce, another tomato slice, and some more tuna salad; sprinkle with parsley and sesame seeds. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
