This salmon recipe will be a hit with kids who don't like the taste of fish, but you need to accommodate the kids. The fish fillet is marinated for several hours (the longer the better) in a mixture of soy sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, garlic, and oil, absorbing all the Asian flavors. Grill the fish in the oven, and reduce the marinade slightly on the stovetop to create a sweet and savory sauce. The salmon turns out delicious and melts in your mouth. Serve with the sauce.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. In a bowl or large zip-lock bag, combine 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, onion, brown sugar, garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper to taste. Add the fish and toss to coat completely. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, but preferably longer.
  2. Preheat the oven to broil and line a baking sheet with foil. Place the fish on the foil (don't pour out the marinade) and brush with vegetable oil. Grill for 5-7 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque. Meanwhile, strain the marinade and simmer in a saucepan over medium heat until the liquid has evaporated slightly. Serve the fish with the sauce.
