Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Preheat oven to 190°C.
- In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring, for 10 minutes, or until softened and caramelized. Add the sage and transfer to a large bowl.
- Add the cornbread pieces, season generously with salt and pepper, and mix thoroughly. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, cream, and broth and pour the mixture over the cornbread.
