This is an incredibly simple alternative to chicken-filled pies. To make it, you'll need store-bought pizza dough. Divide it into four pieces, roll them out, and roll them up with a juicy filling of chicken, cheese, and fried bacon. You can also use store-bought chicken or use leftover baked chicken from last night's dinner. Serve the chicken in the dough hot to enjoy the gooey cheese, and if it cools down, wrap it in foil and reheat in the oven at 200°C for 8-10 minutes.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 tbsp. grated mozzarella
  • 1 cup grated provolone
  • 1/4 tbsp. grated parmesan
  • 2 cups shredded skinless grilled chicken
  • 4 slices fried bacon, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • 1/3 cup good quality Caesar dressing
  • 450 g of pizza dough at room temperature
  • Extra-virgin olive oil, for the dough
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melt and let cool

We recommend

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the mozzarella, provolone, and Parmesan in a large bowl. Transfer 1/2 cup of the cheese mixture to a small bowl and set aside. Add the chicken, bacon, and green onions to the large bowl with the cheese. Drizzle with Caesar dressing and season with freshly ground black pepper to taste. Toss to distribute the ingredients evenly.

  3. Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal pieces and lightly brush with olive oil. Roll one piece into a rectangle 7-8 inches (18-22 cm) in size. Using one of the long sides closest to you, spread a quarter of the filling across the center of the rectangle, leaving a 2-cm (0.8-inch) margin on each side. Fold the edges in at the sides, then fold the bottom edge of the dough over the filling and roll to enclose the filling, trimming off any excess dough. Pinch the seams to seal the filling. Place the roll, seam-side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling, spacing them about 2 inches (5 cm) apart on the baking sheet.
  4. Brush the dough with melted butter and sprinkle with the reserved cheese mixture. Bake until golden brown and the cheese topping is crisp, 25-30 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and serve.
