  • Olive oil
  • 1 small red onion, cut into rings
  • 1 piece (4 cm) ginger, peeled and grated
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • Juice of 1/2 lime

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add red onion and cook, stirring, until golden brown, 6 to 8 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board to cool slightly, then coarsely chop.
  2. Combine ginger, cayenne pepper, and lime juice in a bowl, then add fried onions, tomatoes, and cilantro. Let the salad sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.

  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the bread with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Place the bread on the grill and grill until heated through and lightly charred, about 2 minutes per side, brushing with additional olive oil.
  4. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the tomato salad and toss gently. Spread yogurt on the bread and top with the tomato salad.
