Ground beef neck is sautéed with onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, and spices, then topped with a layer of shortcrust pastry and baked in the oven until the crust is cooked through. Using store-bought pastry, this dish will take just 20 minutes of hard work.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.

  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes with green chili peppers
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C.
  2. In a 25cm ovenproof skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, garlic, and a generous pinch of salt and black pepper.

  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are browned and tender, about 6 minutes. Add the tomatoes, cumin, and cinnamon and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  4. Move the vegetables to one side of the pan and add the ground beef to the other side; season the beef with salt and black pepper. Increase the heat to high and cook, stirring all the ingredients, until no more pink spots remain on the beef, about 3 minutes.
  5. Add raisins and olives and remove from heat.
  6. Unfold the pie dough and fold it over the filling; use the tines of a fork to press the edges into the inside of the pan.
  7. Transfer to oven and bake until golden brown, 15-20 minutes.
