Mix cashews with garam masala, curry powder, and coconut, then roast until crispy for a delicious Indian-inspired snack. These nuts are perfect as an appetizer at a house party or as a quick snack on the go.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Masala spice mix

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala spice
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 0.5 tsp ground turmeric

Nuts

  • Vegetable or canola oil to grease the baking sheet
  • Protein of 1 large egg
  • 4 cups unsalted raw cashews

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine coconut, sugar, garam masala, curry powder, turmeric, if using, and 1.5 teaspoons salt in a small bowl and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 175°C. Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet with vegetable oil.

  3. Nuts:

    Place the egg white in a large bowl and whisk until foamy. Add the cashews and stir to coat. Add the spice mixture and stir to coat.
  4. Spread the nuts evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, 15-20 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet, then transfer to a large bowl.
