Cashews are roasted in a soy-ginger glaze with sesame seeds, then mixed with crispy fried bacon bits. This Asian-inspired snack is perfect with beer.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Asian Spice Mix with Sesame

  • 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp dark sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons lightly salted soy sauce
  • 1.5 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Five Spice Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Nuts

  • Protein of 1 large egg
  • 4 cups unsalted raw cashews
  • 1 cup chopped fried bacon
  • Vegetable oil to grease the baking sheet

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Combine sesame seeds, sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, five-spice powder, red pepper flakes, and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt in a small bowl and set aside.
  2. Preheat oven to 175°C. Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet with vegetable oil.

  3. Place the egg white in a large bowl and whisk until foamy. Add the cashews and stir to coat. Add the spice mixture and stir again.
  4. Spread the nut mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, 15-20 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet, then stir in the bacon and transfer to a large bowl.
