A handcrafted chocolate bar is a wonderful holiday treat or gift for friends, and a way to feel like a French chocolatier without any special skills. It's made using a blend of premium chocolates, melted in a double boiler and poured into a new bar. The combination of roasted cashews, dried apricots, and dried cranberries infuses your chocolate with texture and a stunning flavor with sweet and tart notes. Allow the bar to set, then break it into pieces and enjoy.


Ingredients:

  • 220 g of high-quality semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 220 g of high-quality dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup whole cashews, roasted
  • 1 cup chopped dried apricots
  • 0.5 cups dried cranberries
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Melt both types of chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water.
  • Step 2
  • Meanwhile, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a ruler and pencil, draw a 22 x 25 cm rectangle on the paper. Turn the paper face down onto the baking sheet.
  • Step 3
  • Pour the melted chocolate onto the paper and spread it around the drawn rectangle. Sprinkle the chocolate with cashews, dried apricots, and cranberries. Set aside for 2 hours to allow the mixture to set. Cut the chocolate bar into 2.5 x 8 cm pieces and serve at room temperature.
