This bright and striking chocolate bar, studded with dried cranberries, dried apricots, and cashews, makes a wonderful gift or simply a treat when guests stop by for a cup of coffee. And it's delicious, too! Rich dark chocolate with a fruity tartness and salty nuts… Few will resist.

Ingredients:

  • 220 g of high-quality dark chocolate bar (65% cocoa content), finely chopped
  • 220 g dark chocolate bar (80% cocoa content), finely chopped
  • 1 cup whole roasted salted cashews
  • 1 cup chopped dried apricots
  • 0.5 cups dried cranberries
  • Coarse sea salt
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Melt the two types of chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water.
  • Step 2
  • Meanwhile, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a ruler and pencil, draw a 22x25 cm rectangle on the paper. Place the paper face down on the baking sheet.
  • Step 3
  • Pour the melted chocolate onto the paper and spread it out along the outline. Sprinkle the chocolate with cashews, dried apricots, and dried cranberries. Let it set for 2 hours, then sprinkle with sea salt. Cut the chocolate into 2.5 x 7.5 cm pieces.
