A fun way to make your favorite cookies even better: turn them into mini summer watermelon cookies! For this recipe, in addition to the Oreo cookies themselves, you'll need red and green Candy Melts, which melt into the frosting, and chocolate sprinkles for the watermelon seeds.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1/4 cup red Candy Melts
  • 1 teaspoon of confectionery fat
  • 1 chocolate sandwich cookie, such as Oreo
  • 0.5 tsp chocolate sprinkles
  • 1/4 cup green Candy Melts

  2. Cut the cookies in half and dip each half in the red melted candy. Transfer to parchment paper and sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles. Let set for about 5 minutes.

  3. Place the green candy melts and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring, until melted.
  4. Dip the rounded edges of the cookie halves into the green icing to create a watermelon rind. Let harden on parchment paper for about 5 minutes.
