Crostini are a very popular Italian toast. They're essentially toasted croutons, sometimes seasoned, with various toppings, designed to remain crispy to prevent the sandwich from becoming soggy. The most important criterion is their size. They can be used as an appetizer and topped with various spreads, or they can be cut into croutons and sprinkled over soups. With this versatile recipe, you can easily prepare a simple appetizer base, a crunchy soup topping, or salad, or complement them with a vegetable dipping sauce and offer them to guests as an appetizer.
