The best thing about this easy pizza dough is that it's yeast-free, meaning you don't have to wait for it to rise! It takes just 20 minutes from start to finish. The pizza is baked in a cast-iron skillet, then grilled on the stovetop, and then finished in the oven using the broiler setting. The crust is soft and fluffy on the inside with a crispy crust on the outside, and you can top it with whatever ingredients you have on hand, like tomato sauce, cheese, vegetables, or deli meats.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 and 1/3 cups premium flour + extra for dusting
  • 1 tbsp coarse cornmeal
  • 1 and 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp. granulated sugar
  • 0.5 tsp coarse salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • Various pizza toppings, such as sauce, grated cheese, deli meats, and vegetables

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Position the oven rack approximately 20 cm from the heating element and preheat the oven to grill mode.
  2. Combine the flour, corn flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda in a food processor and pulse until evenly distributed. With the processor running, add 1/2 cup water and pulse, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed, until all the flour is incorporated and the dough begins to form a ball. It will be slightly sticky.

  3. Lightly flour your work surface and hands. Form the dough between your palms into a neat ball and place it on the work surface. Dust with flour and roll it out into a 25 cm (10 in) circle.
  4. Grease the bottom of a 25cm cast iron skillet with olive oil. Place the dough in the skillet and flip it over to coat both sides. Top with desired toppings.
  5. Place the skillet over high heat and broil for 5 minutes, then transfer to the oven and broil until the cheese is golden brown, 4 minutes.
