Baked pork with potatoes and apple sauce - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 700 g pork tenderloin, cut into 4 pieces
  • 700 g new red potatoes with skin, halved
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced (about 2.5 cm)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
  • 1.5 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 cup apple sauce
  • 1/4 cup low-fat sour cream
  • A little freshly grated nutmeg

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Combine potatoes, bell peppers, thyme, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper to taste in a shallow baking dish. Bake for about 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together the applesauce, sour cream, and nutmeg; set aside.

  3. Pound the pork pieces, pat dry, and season with salt and pepper. Heat a large, shallow frying pan with the remaining olive oil and brown the pork on all sides over medium-high heat, about 6 minutes. Place the pork in a baking dish with the vegetables and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes. Transfer the pork to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  4. Divide the pork among portions with the baked vegetables and pour over the thick apple sauce.
