These sweet potato chips are healthier than regular potato chips, and you can easily make them at home. No deep fryer required: the chips are simply baked in the oven, using just a couple of tablespoons of olive oil. To ensure crispy chips, it's important to slice each potato thinly and evenly. A mandoline slicer is ideal for this. Before baking, sprinkle the chips with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. The spiciness pairs beautifully with the sweet potato's subtle sweetness. Serve as a side dish with burgers or as a snack.

1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

  • 1 - 2 sweet potatoes, washed and dried (1 large or 2 small)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp ground black pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 230°C. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the sweet potato into 0.5 cm thick slices. Pour olive oil into a large bowl and add the spices. Add the sliced ​​sweet potato and toss. Arrange in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Bake until the sweet potato is crisp, about 10 minutes.
