Complexity: easily
Servings: 4 - 6

You can easily make delicious, low-calorie (compared to store-bought) tortilla chips at home. All you need is corn tortillas, a tablespoon of vegetable oil, and fine salt. Grease the tortillas, cut them into triangles, arrange them on a large baking sheet, and bake in the oven until crispy. Serve as an appetizer with dips, guacamole, or salsa, in place of regular bread with soups and stews, and also use them in Mexican-inspired dishes.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 12 corn tortillas, 6 inches in diameter (preferably white)
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • Fine salt
