You'll be surprised how easy it is to make these delicious, healthy apple chips. The hardest part is probably slicing the fruit thinly, but a mandoline slicer can help! Sprinkle the apples with a blend of aromatic spices and bake in the oven until crispy.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1/4 tsp ground anise seed
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spices
  • A pinch of coarse salt
  • 2 Goldrush or Pink Lady apples
  • Special equipment: mandoline vegetable slicer

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 235°F (107°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a small bowl, combine the anise, ginger, pumpkin pie spice, and salt.
  2. Using a mandoline, slice the apples into 0.3 cm thick rounds. Place them on prepared baking sheets, making sure the slices don't touch. Sprinkle the apples with the spice mixture.

  3. Bake for 1 hour. Turn the apples over and bake until crisp, another 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. Let cool completely. Store in a tightly sealed container for up to 3 days..
