If your child prefers chips to green vegetables, a compromise can be found. You can reap the benefits of kale while enjoying the delicious, crunchy leaves. They probably won't curb your fast-food cravings, but they're also unlikely to be a turn-off for unusual green "chips." You can make variations. For example, you could add paprika and garlic powder to barbecue, or zest and celery salt to fish. Dry the kale thoroughly after washing, otherwise the "chips" won't be crispy. Also, keep in mind that the leaves lose a lot of moisture when cooked, so the "chips" may be smaller than expected.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 1 bunch of kale, washed and dried well
  • 1 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 150°C.
  2. Tear each kale leaf into large pieces, removing the central veins first. Place the kale in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss until the leaves are completely coated.

  3. Divide the cabbage between two parchment-lined baking sheets. Arrange in a single layer and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until the leaves are crisp. Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with brown sugar.

    Note

    Be sure to only place the kale on the baking sheet in a single layer, otherwise the kale will turn out soft and not crispy.
