"You can crunch through a whole bowl and not regret it one bit!" says Jeff Mauro of his healthy kale chips. The kale leaves are baked in the oven at a low temperature with a little oil until crispy, then immediately sprinkled with a spice blend, giving them a beloved barbecue flavor. These chips are not only great as a snack but also as a side dish, like with scrambled eggs or meat, used as an appetizer ingredient, and added to salads in place of croutons.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 bunch kale (about 450 g)
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp ground ancho pepper
  • 1 tbsp. l. brown sugar
  • 1.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp mustard powder
  • Olive oil or cooking spray

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 135°C. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Trim the thick stems from the kale and discard; tear the leaves into pieces. Arrange on prepared baking sheets and spray evenly with cooking spray. Bake the kale, stirring once, until crisp-tender, about 35 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare the barbecue seasoning.:

In a bowl, combine paprika, ground chili pepper, brown sugar, garlic powder, mustard powder, and 1.5 teaspoons of salt. Remove the cabbage from the oven and sprinkle with the seasoning.
