Tortilla chips
- Vegetable oil, for deep-frying
- 12 (15cm diameter) wheat or corn flour tortillas, cut into quarters (recipe corn tortillas, recipe wheat tortillas)
- 1 tbsp. ground cumin
- Coarse salt
Guacamole sauce
- 4 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted, cut into small cubes
- 1/2 small red onion, finely diced
- 1 jalapeño pepper, finely diced
- Juice of 2 limes (about 1/4 cup)
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro or parsley
- Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Prepare the chips: Pour 5 cm of vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat to 180°C. Place the tortillas in batches and fry until golden brown, 3-4 minutes. Transfer the chips to paper towels and sprinkle with cumin and salt.
