Tortilla chips with guacamole sauce - a detailed recipe.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


Tortilla chips

  • Vegetable oil, for deep-frying
  • 12 (15cm diameter) wheat or corn flour tortillas, cut into quarters (recipe corn tortillas, recipe wheat tortillas)
  • 1 tbsp. ground cumin
  • Coarse salt

Guacamole sauce

  • 4 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 small red onion, finely diced
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, finely diced
  • Juice of 2 limes (about 1/4 cup)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro or parsley
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Prepare the chips: Pour 5 cm of vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat to 180°C. Place the tortillas in batches and fry until golden brown, 3-4 minutes. Transfer the chips to paper towels and sprinkle with cumin and salt.
  2. Prepare guacamole sauce: Combine avocado, red onion, jalapeño pepper, lime juice, and cilantro in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Serve guacamole with tortilla chips.
