This version of guacamole has a smoky flavor that's different from the original. You don't have to fire up the grill to grill the vegetables. A touch of chipotle pepper in adobo sauce adds just the right amount of flavor. Add it instead of fresh jalapeño for a smoky, spicy kick.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 avocados
  • Half a small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large clove of garlic, grated or crushed into a paste
  • 1–2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, seeded and finely chopped, plus a tablespoon of adobo sauce
  • A small handful of fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime
  • Tortilla chips for serving
