The sauce is made with two types of canned beans, vegetables, ground chicken, tomatoes, and chili peppers—the essential ingredient that gives the sauce its name. Served on buns, it's topped with grated cheddar and sliced onions. Optionally, you can top it with Greek yogurt, which will soften the sauce's savory flavor.

Ingredients for the recipe:

- 450 g of minced chicken

- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 stalks celery, diced
- 1 - 2 sweet peppers, diced
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 x 400g cans of diced tomatoes
- 1 can (425 g) kidney beans
- 1 can (425 g) pinto beans
- 8 whole grain hot dog buns
- 1/4 cup grated cheddar
- 0.5 cup chopped green onions
- Plain nonfat Greek yogurt, for serving (optional)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
