Ingredients:


Bean Chili
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (See barbecue sauce recipes here)
  • 450g canned red kidney beans, drained and rinsed under water
  • 450g canned black beans "Preto", drained and rinsed under water
  • 2 tbsp dried chili pepper mixture
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Hot dogs
  • Vegetable oil
  • 8 sausages
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 1/2 medium white sweet onion, chopped
Substituting ingredients
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Preparation:

    Step 1
  • Prepare the chili: mix in a heavy-bottomed saucepan barbecue sauce, red and black beans, chili pepper mixture, brown sugar, and mustard. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Meanwhile, prepare the sausages: Heat a grill or grill pan to medium heat. Grease the grate or pan with vegetable oil. Place the sausages on the grill and cook, turning, for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Slice the buns in half lengthwise, place the sausages inside, and top with chili. Serve. hot dogs hot, sprinkled with chopped onions.
