What do you get when you combine sausage rolls and French toast? A delicious and quick pastry that's perfect for breakfast or as a snack! You don't need to knead the dough for these sausage rolls. Simply wrap each one in a slice of white bread and cook it like French toast: soak it in a sweet egg mixture and fry it in butter until golden brown. A wonderful combination of savory pork sausages and sweet, cinnamon-flavored French toast awaits you. Dust them with powdered sugar and dip them in natural maple syrup.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the sausages on the baking sheet and bake until golden brown and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside. Reduce the oven temperature to 205°F (95°C).
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Trim each slice of bread into a 5x10 cm rectangle, then flatten lightly with your fingertips. Wrap a sausage roll around each slice, pressing firmly into the short end. Transfer to the bowl with the egg mixture and soak for 5 minutes.
- In a large nonstick skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. When it begins to darken and foam, add 6 bread-wrapped sausages and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined baking sheet and keep in the oven to keep warm.
- Wipe out the pan, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, and repeat with the remaining sausages. Dust the sausages with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.
