These breadsticks are made with store-bought pizza dough, and Italian seasoning and sesame seeds impart a wonderful aroma and flavor. By tying each dough string in the middle, you form a knuckle, which, along with a green olive "nail," creates a spooky witch's finger appetizer for Halloween.

The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Premium flour, for dusting
  • 450 g of chilled pizza dough, at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 5 olives stuffed with peppers, cut in half lengthwise
  • 0.5 cups of warmed store-bought marinara sauce, for filing

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. In a small bowl, combine the butter, Italian seasoning, 0.5 teaspoon salt, and a few grinds of black pepper.
  2. Lightly flour your work surface and, using a bench scraper or chef's knife, divide the dough into 10 equal portions. Roll each portion into a 25 cm long rope. Twist each rope in the middle and place it on the prepared baking sheets.

  3. Brush the breadsticks with the seasoned oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Press an olive half firmly onto the end of each breadstick to adhere it to the dough. Bake until golden brown, 15–20 minutes. Serve with warm marinara sauce.
