A healthier take on classic deep-fried fries, these julienned sweet potatoes are baked in the oven until golden brown.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 5 sweet potatoes (peeled, cut into 1/4-inch-wide slices lengthwise, then into 1/4-inch-wide strips using a serrated knife)
  • Olive oil for greasing the potatoes
  • 1 tbsp. l. homemade seasoning, see recipe below
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Homemade seasoning:

  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Preheat oven to 230°C.

    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, toss the sweet potatoes with enough oil to coat each piece completely. Sprinkle with homemade seasoning and paprika.

    Place the sweet potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, being careful not to overcrowd. Bake, turning occasionally, until tender and golden brown, about 20 minutes. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

    For homemade seasoning: Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
