Ingredients for the recipe:

- 1/4 cup frozen green peas (defrosted)
- 2 crushed cloves of garlic
- 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- Salt
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil, plus more for greasing
- 1/4 cup plain low-fat yogurt, plus extra for serving
- 1 large red onion (1/2 cut into pieces, 1/2 cut into half rings)
- 1 piece ginger, peeled and thinly sliced into 2.5cm long pieces.
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, plus more for garnish
- 4 pitas without a cavity inside or lavash
- Chopped cashews and/or hot sauce for garnish (optional)

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- In a food processor, puree the diced onion with the ginger, garlic, coriander, cumin, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 cup water.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and fry until golden brown, 4-5 minutes. Add the spice paste and cook, stirring, until slightly dry, 8-10 minutes.
Add the ground chicken and fry until opaque, breaking up the meat into pieces. Mix the yogurt with 1/4 cup water, add to the pan, and simmer over medium-low heat until tender, another 2-3 minutes. Add the green peas, cilantro, and salt. - Meanwhile, heat another skillet over high heat. Brush the pitas with oil, season with salt, and fry them in the skillet for about a minute on each side. Divide the chicken mixture among the pitas. Drizzle with yogurt and sprinkle with cilantro. Garnish with cashews and/or hot sauce (optional).
