The classic coffee flavor of Italian tiramisu is perfectly complemented by the almond note of amaretto liqueur. This recipe also makes two servings when you need a quick and elegant dessert, such as for a romantic dinner on Valentine's Day.
The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:
- 2.5 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/4 tbsp. (60 g.) softened mascarpone cheese
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp amaretto or other almond liqueur
- 1/4 cup very strong coffee or espresso, chilled
- 4 sticks savoyardi (Italian ladyfingers), cut each in half
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder + extra for garnish
- Amaretti cookies, broken into pieces, for decoration

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Whip the cream in a bowl with a hand mixer until stiff peaks form. Refrigerate.
- In a large bowl, combine the mascarpone, sugar, vanilla, and 1.5 tablespoons of amaretto using a spatula or wooden spoon. Fold in the whipped cream and set aside.
- Pour the coffee and the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons amaretto into a shallow bowl and set aside.
- Dip 2 savoiardi halves into the coffee mixture and place them in the bottom of a 120 ml (4 oz) ramekin. Top with a small dollop of mascarpone cream, sprinkle with cocoa powder, and repeat the layers of soaked biscuit halves, cream, and cocoa powder. Assemble the dessert in the other ramekin in the same way, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for a few hours to set.
- When ready to serve, garnish the tiramisu with broken amaretti cookies and a small amount of cocoa powder.
