The vibrant and interesting flavor combination of lemon pepper will transform the already rich flavor of mushrooms, elevating them to a whole new level. And you don't need to buy a special seasoning. Finely grate the lemon zest and sprinkle it over the mushrooms while frying. Then, add plenty of black pepper and fry until the mushrooms are evenly browned. Top with green onions and serve the fried mushrooms as an appetizer or as a side dish with meat or chicken.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 0.6 kg chopped champignons
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) butter or 0.5 tbsp each of butter and olive oil
  • 1 tbsp finely grated lemon zest
  • 1.5 tbsp chopped fresh chives

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, spread them evenly, and sprinkle with lemon zest. Cook, undisturbed, until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
  2. Stir in 1/4 teaspoon salt and 3/4 teaspoon black pepper and continue to cook until the mushrooms are tender but not mushy, 4 to 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Transfer to a serving platter and sprinkle with chives. Serve warm.
