Impress your guests with an exquisite dessert and serve ice cream just like you'd expect. Pineapple rings are grilled or pan-fried until beautifully crisped and then arranged on plates. A scoop of vanilla ice cream is placed in the center of each ring and drizzled with rum sauce. This presentation not only looks bright and summery, but it's also incredibly delicious, combining juicy grilled pineapple with the creamy flavor of the ice cream and rich syrup with subtle spicy caramel notes.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:

  1. Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple, peel it and cut it crosswise into 8 rings approximately 1 cm thick. Use a spoon to remove the core from each ring.
  2. Spray a large grill pan with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Grill the pineapple in 2 or 3 batches for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and covered with grill marks. You can also grill the pineapple rings on an outdoor grill sprayed with cooking spray.

  3. While the last batch of pineapple rings is frying, heat the butter, sugar, and rum in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly, about 2 minutes. Remove the sauce from the heat.
  4. Place a pineapple ring on each plate, spoon 1/4 cup ice cream into the center, and drizzle with 2 teaspoons of the sauce.
