For a delicious Asian flavor, marinate your wings in a mixture of gluten-free tamari soy sauce, ginger, dark sesame oil, and lime zest before grilling. The wings need at least 8 hours to fully infuse the marinade, so plan ahead and marinate the night before. The marinated wings are then baked in the oven until almost done and then grilled for a few minutes until crispy. Serve immediately, sprinkled with sesame seeds. The wings are juicy, tart, and spicy, with a pleasant citrus flavor.



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 0.7 kg chicken wings, cut at the joints, discard the tips
  • 1/3 cup lightly salted tamari sauce
  • 1 tbsp grated peeled ginger
  • 1 tbsp dark sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp lime zest and 1.5 tsp lime juice
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds, toasted

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. In a small bowl, combine tamari, ginger, sesame oil, lime zest and juice, and 2 tablespoons water. Place the chicken wings in a resealable plastic bag, pour the marinade over them, and seal the bag. Toss the wings with the marinade and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  2. Preheat oven to 220°C.

  3. Line a small rimmed baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray. Place the chicken and marinade on the baking sheet; roast until the wings are cooked through, turning halfway through, for 25 minutes.
  4. Turn the oven to broil. Grill the wings until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds.
