Red onions are slowly simmered in red wine, honey, and red wine vinegar until they form a sticky, sweet-and-spicy jam. Serve it as a side dish to grilled meats or vegetables, add it to burgers and sandwiches, add it to a cheeseboard, or simply spread it on a cracker and enjoy!

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and a generous pinch of salt and black pepper. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft, 10-15 minutes.
- Increase the heat to high, add the red wine, and cook until most of the wine has been absorbed by the onions. Add the honey and red wine vinegar and simmer, reducing the heat as needed and stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft, sticky, and jam-like, about 15 minutes.
