This spice blend is perfect for pork, any cut, whether it's shoulder, ribs, or kebabs. The meat turns out tender and flavorful, with a sweet hint of brown sugar and a subtle heat from cayenne pepper—perfect for barbecue!



The recipes use measuring containers with the following volumes:
1 glass (st.) - 250 ml.
3/4 cup (st.) - 180 ml.
2/3 cup (st.) - 160 ml.
1/2 cup (st.) - 125 ml.
1/3 cup (st.) - 80 ml.
1/4 cup (st.) - 60 ml.
1 tablespoon (tbsp) - 15 ml.
1 teaspoon (tsp) - 5 ml.
1/5 teaspoon (tsp) - 1 ml.

Ingredients for the recipe:


  • 2 tbsp + 2 tsp celery seeds
  • 1.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 4 tbsp. chili powder
  • 3 tbsp + 1 tsp paprika
  • 3 tbsp + 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp + 2 tsp dry mustard
  • 2 tbsp + 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:


  1. Grind the celery seeds and oregano into a powder using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle. Transfer to a 0.5-liter plastic container.
  2. Add chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, dry mustard, cumin, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, 7 tablespoons salt, and 4 tablespoons black pepper. Cover the container and shake vigorously until combined, about 30 seconds. Rub the spice mixture onto the pork shoulder or spare ribs and marinate overnight.
