Edamame are immature soybeans, a staple among healthy eaters around the world. But they're also a popular snack with beer or other alcoholic beverages. For this type of snack, edamame is prepared spicy. Boil them and toss with a toasted spice mix, including salt, chili powder, red pepper flakes, and oregano. This is the quickest recipe for a savory vegetable appetizer. Serve edamame straight from the pod.

Cooking the dish according to the recipe:
- In a small dry skillet over medium heat, stirring, heat the salt, chili powder and red pepper until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and crumble oregano into the mixture.
